Kindness is the golden chain by which society is bound
When we turn our love and attention outward, our efforts take on added meaning and purpose. To do our best for others can be infinitely more rewarding than focusing on ourselves. Why should this be? By interacting with others, we reap the twin awards of validation and appreciation, regardless of the outcome of our efforts. When we act with kindness and with consideration, our actions reflect the unity of the universe. We may start to improve and extend ourselves and end up benefitting others, thereby increasing our rewards. We may act altruistically because we believe God wills us. We may genuinely wish to serve and help others from an open heart that recognises humanity’s sameness amid difference. Community creates a pool of skills, ideas and expertise that can accomplish tasks beyond our imaginings. When we care for the planet and our neighbourhoods as we do ourselves, we make a real contribution to world peace and individual contentment.
The Wise Woman’s Stone
A wise woman who was travelling in the mountains found a precious stone in a stream. The next day she met another traveller who was hungry and the wise woman opened her bag to share the food. The hungry traveller saw the precious stone and asked the woman to give it to him. She did so without hesitation. The traveller left rejoicing in his good fortune. He knew the stone was worth enough to give him security for a lifetime.
But a few days letter he came back to return the stone to the wise woman “I have been thinking” he said “I know how valuable this stone is, but I give it back in the hope that you can give something even more precious. Give me what you have within you that enabled you to give me this stone.” Sometimes it is not the wealth you have but what’s inside you that others need.

Together Everyone Achieves More.” 7. “Teamwork divides the task and doubles the success.” 8. “If everyone is moving forward together, then the success takes care of itself.” 9. “Snowflakes are one of nature’s most fragile things, but just look at what they can do when they stick together.”
