1st Birthday - hindusevakhub website

Updated: Sep 19

On 19 September 2023 the hindusevakhub website was launched on the auspicious occasion of Ganesh Chaturthi.

It gives me immense pleasure to celebrate the 1st Birthday and many more to come in my lifetime.

The reason for starting the website was the distinct lack of material on Hinduism whether it be the National Council of Hindu Temples, National Congress of Gujarati Organisations, The Hindu Forum Britain and various Hindu Temples.

Two particular temples BAPS Neasden Mandir which stands head and shoulders above any Hindu organisation on promoting Hinduism worldwide and the Shree Hindu Temple & Community Centre in Leicester.

Despite over 50 years in this country the individuals who get elected to these bodies seem to lack leadership, vision and marketing. It is a no brainer that like minded individuals with no ego can work jointly to promote and prepare material on Hinduism for the benefit of all who wish to learn. Is there an enthusiasm for doing such work under a common banner.

Despite writing to a few temples for assistance none responded and it was like standing with a begging bowl. No one has any vision to work with unity.

At community level so many celebrate but with no literature for the young to read and take interest in Hinduism. Most of them are about speeches, a few entertainment items and refreshments.

In our first year we have had a good variety of articles covering many different subjects but the main emphasis has been Hinduism. We will work to ensure that the website continues to generate more interest.

My sincere thanks to Bipin Wadher who has stood shoulder to shoulder with me in preparing the website and thereafter continue to support my vision. Bipin and I have worked tirelessly for the Kathiawari Mochi community to promote the concept of a good website and a genuinely useful database of all members in the UK. When SEVAK operated for 20 years we had a very up to date database. Sevak produced two directories for London and the experience we had enabled Janasri Organisations UK to produce a UK directory. When SEVAK merged with Jan-Kshatriya Sevak Mandal (London) the same experience enabled them to produce a directory.

In 2001 my Database and Website project, assisted by Bipin, qualified for a cash award of £2,850 with CEMVO Millennium Award Scheme. Please see details attached. SEVAK launched the first Mochi website on 1 July 2001

For those who are interested to know I have had a very deep interest in serving the Kathiawari Mochi Community which I did for 25 years from the age of 21 years. However the elders in the community and many others never felt the need to invest in the young generation. Today the result is all Mochi community organisations in the UK are hopelessly out of touch with their members and lack any VISION giving the same type of programmes on a year on year basis.
